Why Your Marco's Promo Code Isn't Working

Start with the five usual suspects

Before you give up on a code, know that rejections cluster around five causes. They tend to happen in roughly this order of likelihood, so working down the list in order is the fastest way to find the culprit. Most of the time it’s the very first one.

1. Your cart is under the minimum

The most common reason by far: the code needs a minimum spend you haven’t reached yet. A ‘$10 off $40’ code does nothing on a thirty-five-dollar cart. Check the card’s conditions for a threshold and add a side or drink to clear it — often the item you add costs less than the discount you unlock, so it’s worth doing.

2. Something in the cart is excluded

Many codes apply to menu-price pizzas only and skip anything already on a bundle or value price. If your cart is mostly combo-priced items, a percentage code may have nothing left to discount. Try the code on a full-menu pizza instead, or compare it against the bundle price and use whichever is lower — you can’t have both.

3. It's carryout-only or app-only

Some of the deepest codes are limited to carryout, and some are flagged app-only and simply won’t paste in on the website. If a code refuses to apply, check whether it’s tied to a channel you’re not using. Switching to carryout, or opening the app, often makes a ‘broken’ code work instantly.

4. It's expired or hit its cap

Codes expire, and some carry a redemption limit that’s already been reached. This is exactly why every card here shows a last-verified time — a code confirmed an hour ago is far safer than one nobody’s checked in weeks. If a code won’t take and everything else looks right, it’s probably simply dead; grab a higher-scoring one instead.

5. A copy-paste slip

The quiet one: a stray space, a missing character, or the wrong capitalization sneaking in when you copied. Re-copy the code cleanly, paste it with no extra spaces, and try again. It’s a two-second fix that resolves a surprising share of ‘it won’t work’ cases.

If you’ve been through all five and the code still won’t take, it’s time to move on rather than fight it. Pick a different code with a high redeem-rate score and a recent verified time, or fall back on a no-code value deal that applies automatically. There’s almost always another route to a lower total that doesn’t depend on one stubborn code.
